Mary McDonnell

 Mary Eileen McDonnell, born April 28 1952 was an American actress on stage, TV, and film. She received Academy Award nominations for her roles as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and May-Alice Culhane in Passion Fish. McDonnell is known for her portrayals as President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica and as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day, and Rose in Donnie Darko. In the seasons of 5-7, she was featured as Captain Sharon Raydor and in Major Crimes spin-offs on TNT.
